Combat & AI
Combat AI for enemies is setup, currently Hilde is using it during one of her new quests just to demonstrate it, but it can easily be used with any type of character no matter what kind of weapon they have, currently 25 realistic animations included – attack, parry, dodge, walk, idle and more.
Equipping and unequipping weapons depending on the state.
Fluent transition between AI states (Friendly AI to Combat, Combat to Friendly, Friendly to Run etc).
Improved the LookAt scripts that handle eye movement and head rotation when the player is nearby.
Player combat – more freedom doing combos with the animations and less delay to make it more fluent and fun.
Folkvang update – fully reworked the environment, making it more snowy and realistic looking.
Added more models on the island and in the house.
New animated sky in both open world scenes.
Sounds & Music
We have added audio zones on the island. Each zones has a couple of musics or a combination of musics and sounds. For example when you go to the forest, you will hear a background music and random insect and birds sounds, when you are close to the ocean, it will transition to the ocean sounds and so on.
Sounds when you swing the weapon and additional sounds if you hit something (wood, flesh).
Added a new blacksmith area on the island, related to one of the quests.
Added a fishing area close to the village + other small fishing spots.
Added animated dummies that react to hit with a melee weapon.
Better animator controller that allows us to work with unlimited amount of animations without dealing with animation transitions and parameters.
Improved the weapon’s hit colliders to avoid missing hits.
Optimized the fish spawner.
Added more items that can affect the progress of a quest. There is a training zone and if you leave it during the quest, it will be restarted.
Times that will complete a quest after a certain amount of seconds have passed.
Allowing saving during most of the tasks (it wasn’t allow during “GoToLocation” tasks before).
Updating the dialogues of other characters when a quest is completed.
Fixed a bug where an empty task will appear in the quest log.
Fixed a bug with Harald during the fishing quest.
Fixed a bug with the new ambient sound manager.
Falling through the ground bug fix, when playing with very low FPS.
